Accreditation

The American University of Beirut Medical Center (

AUBMC) has always been and continues to be a leader in the healthcare field in the region. AUBMC is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCIA) and the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program� granted AUBMC its prestigious Magnet designation on June 23, 2009. The Magnet program recognizes nursing excellence "in the delivery of care to patients, promoting quality healthcare services in an environment that supports professional nursing practice, and providing a mechanism for the dissemination of best practices in nursing services." AUBMC is the first healthcare institution in the Middle East and the fourth in the world outside the United States to receive this award. (More)

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at AUBMC has been accredited by the commission on laboratory accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) since 2004. The department is one of the more than 6000 CAP-accredited laboratories worldwide. (More)
