
As part of its tradition and for the sixth year in a row, the Children’s Cancer Institute (CCI) and Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) at AUBMC held their annual Path of Joy event. The event was held under the high patronage and presence of H.E. Marwan Hamadeh, and it celebrated the 15th anniversary of the center. Beautiful talents of the Center’s young patients including art and crafts, singing, and dancing were presented. In addition, the yearly graduation ceremony celebrated the success of a total of 23 students: 10 Brevet and 13 Baccalaureate students.
“Path of Joy” took place on Friday, August 25, 2017, at 5:30 pm, at the Charles Hostler Auditorium, AUB Lower Campus. It was attended by patients’ family members, universities’ representatives, Minister of Education, H.E. Marwan Hamadeh, President of the American University of Beirut (AUB), Dr. Fadlo R. Khuri, Executive Vice President for Medicine and Global Strategy and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the American University of Beirut (AUB), Dr. Mohamed H. Sayegh represented by Medical Center Director and Chief Medical Officer at AUBMC, Director of Children’s Cancer Institute, Director of the Naef K. Basile Cancer Institute, Dr. Hassan El Solh, Chair of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee of the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon, Mrs. Nora Joumblatt, HR Manager Beirut MENA FOBO Pepsico, Ms. Tala El Riz, AUBMC leadership, physicians, nurses, staff, CCCL personnel as well as media presence.
The event included words from H.E. Marwan Hamadeh, Dr. Fadlo R. Khouri, Mrs. Nora Joumblatt, Dr. Hassan El Solh, Ms. Tala El Riz, and Dr. Rihab Sidani. It also included a Talent Show, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of CCI/CCCL, and a Patients’ Art Exhibition.
