Benefits


The University offers many benefits to its Staff Members. These benefits, as summarized in this document, are provided for general information. The reader is encouraged to read and review the policy.

BENEFITS ELIGIBILITY DESCRIPTION​
Health Insurance Plan Full time non-academic employees and part-time non-academic employees engaged on half-time or more for more than nine months. The plan provides for in hospital coverage, and out-patient (ambulatory) coverage for eligible members and their families.
Life Insurance All active, full time non-academic employees of AUB working an AUB approved schedule. The Policy will cover 
- Death due to accident or sickness (natural)
- Death or disability as a result of passive war
- Accidental Permanent Total Disability
- Accidental Permanent Partial Disability
Educational Allowances 
(Above Grade 12)
Full time non-academic employees after completion of two years of continuous active service.  Educational Allowances for elementary, intermediate and secondary education will be paid for a max of 13 regular academic years for eligible students pursuing the High School program and 14 years for students pursuing the Lebanese Baccalaureate Program up to IC tuition fees.
University Education will be provided at either AUB (Free) or reimbursement of tuition at another University​
Educational Allowances 
(Grades 1 - 12)
Full time non-academic staff in grades 1 to 12 who have been in active service for 2 or more years.
Employees are paid scholarship up to 4 children:
For elementary: LL.2,200,000
For intermediate and secondary: LL.3,300,000
University Education will be provided at either AUB (Free) or educational scholarships in other universities up to an amount not to exceed LL.6,000,000 per child
National Social Security Fund All Lebanese non-academic employees at the University and other five nationalities whose countries have reciprocal treatment with Lebanon (British, French, Italian, Belgian, Swiss). In accordance with the rules and regulations of NSSF Medical Scheme, Family Allowances and End of Service Indemnity.
Maternity and
Sickness Branch
Employees benefit from Maternity and Sickness Branch with respect to out-patient and in-patient hospitalization.
Family

Eligible Employees are paid monthly family allowance.
End of Service Indemnity

For Those NOT Covered By NSSF

All Non-Academic employees employed prior to May 1, 1965. End of Service Indemnity is paid as stipulated by Labor Law or NSSF End of Service Indemnity Branch

End of Service Indemnity

For Those Covered By NSSF
All Lebanese regular employees engaged on or after May 1, 1965 and other five nationalities whose countries have reciprocal treatment with Lebanon (British, French, Italian, Belgian, Swiss). End of Service Indemnity is paid as stipulated by Labor Law or NSSF End of Service Indemnity Branch
Annual Leave All non-academic staff after one year of service.

All non-academic staff 3 days in case of death of father, mother, spouse and child, and 
2 days in case of death of brother, sister, grandchild, grandfather and grandmother.
Marriage Leave All non-academic staff 3 days.
Staff Education​​ All non-academic staff are eligible for 6 credits per semester (not to exceed six clock hours) The employee is charged with 40% of the fees. The request for Staff Educational Scholarship Application will be subject to consideration and the submission of this application would not necessarily result in granting an educational scholarship.
